Central air-conditioning in a large building generally consists of either a main plant located on the roof, a mechanical floor and intermittently spaced air-handling units, or fans that deliver air through ducts to zones within the building.
The air then returns to the central air-conditioning machinery through ceiling voids to be re-cooled (or re-heated) and re-circulated. Alternate systems of cooling use chilled water, with water cooled by a refrigerant at a central location and circulated by pumps to units with fans that circulate air locally.
We will advise you on the many ways to either cool or heat your building. Comfort cooling is used and can incorporate heat pumps for heating, controls can be under central control, in each individual office or zoned for open plan areas.
Kontract will advise on fresh-air requirements, not only within the office, but in comms rooms or densely occupied spaces such as meeting or conference rooms, toilets and food prep areas.
